In conjunction with IEEE, the 2021 HOLM Conference Organizing Committee has been monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic closely. The safety and well-being of our conference participants, authors, and speakers are our priority. After studying and evaluating the announcements, guidance, and news released by relevant national departments, the HOLM Organizers have decided to postpone this year’s event, and hold the 2021 HOLM Conference in San Antonio, Texas.

Meanwhile, we will continue this year’s paper review process till it is completed. We understand the importance of being able to have papers published in a timely manner and are working with IEEE to have them published online this year. All papers will still be included in next year’s printed conference proceedings and presented at the 2021 HOLM Conference. The HOLM Organizers also decided to continue accept new abstracts for the 2021 HOLM Conference. Please find the updated Important Dates on the Authors webpage.

The Holm conference provides a forum for the presentation and discussion of the latest developments in the field of electric contacts and the application of recent advances in materials and processes in electric, electronic and telecommunication equipment. The 2019 conference had 54 papers over two and half days including the Holm Scientific Achievement Award lecture and the Mort Antler lecture.

Practicing designers, engineers, physicists and research scientists - those new to the field and those experienced will find this conference very beneficial for learning as well as providing opportunities for international networking. The international contributors come from universities and industries in USA, Austria, Canada, Japan, China, France, Switzerland, Russia, Germany, United Kingdom and other countries. These papers provide the attendees with up-to-date information on a wide range of subjects that makes this conference so attractive to the practicing engineer.

The Intensive Course will be hosted at the 66th IEEE Holm Conference in 2021. A participant in this Course will thus leave the sessions with a thorough and broad knowledge of the subject. The Course will run from October 19 to October 23. The Conference begins on October 24.
