Monday Morning, Oct 7th

9:30am – 11:30am “Explore the Heart of Annapolis” guided tour via electric cart  ($30/per person)

One of America’s oldest cities is a little town packed with hidden gems.  This guided tour will provide an overview of Annapolis’ history & its role in the building of America, showcase its colonial architecture including the original homes of four signers of the Declaration of Independence and provide panoramic views of Annapolis Harbor & Chesapeake Bay.  This is a special discounted conference rate.

Meet in the hotel lobby at 9:15am.  The tour will end at Café Normandie.

11:30am  Lunch at the Café Normandie (self-pay)

French country cuisine with Maryland seafood specialties.  Vegetarian & gluten free options are available.

Monday Afternoon, Oct 7th

2:00pm–3:00  Maryland State House – guided tour (Free)
(a 4 minute walk from the restaurant or 10 minute walk from the hotel)

Docent guided tour of the oldest state capitol in continuous legislative use & the only state house to have also served as the nation’s capitol (from November 1783 – August 1784). See where George Washington resigned his commission & where the Treaty of Paris was ratified, marking the official end of the Revolutionary War.

Wednesday, Oct 9th

10:30 – 11:30am  Hammond Harwood House guided tour ($10/per person)
(a 15 minute walk from the hotel)

Built in 1774 by William Buckland, Hammond-Harwood House is a museum of 18th and early 19th century architecture and art.  The 60-minute guided tour highlights its refined design, unique history and incomparable collection of paintings by Charles Willson Peale and furniture by John Shaw.  The tour includes the main house, garden and old kitchen.

Meet in the hotel lobby at 10:00.

Afternoon            On your Own

Options to consider include continued strolling down Maryland Avenue, Annapolis’s oldest shopping street.  Or visit the United States Naval Academy, taking a 1 ½ hour guided walking or driving tour.  (International visitors are required to show original passport, US citizens are required to show original photo ID.)
